Default Remote Central Locking

Right i have recently purchased a 02 plate Lx focus TDDI and it does not have a remote central locking key, but i'm pretty sure it should have one, I only received 2 keys that look like this...

*ignore the quality of pic was taken on my iphone.

Now i have the instructions here on how to program the central locking to work with a new key when i get one, and also programming the new key to work with the pats system.

But the question I have now, is while looking for a key on eBay, I noticed that people are selling second hand ones, and saying that it can be programmed to be used to start the car, now what I'm thinking is surely the cut of the key would be different too mine and therefore wouldn't turn in the ignition?

This is the type of key i was looking at.

Any help would be great as this is the only thing annoying me about the car.

The CL models didn't have remote locking, not too sure if the diesels were different though.

If it had remote locking it would come with 1 remote key and 1 standard key. It won't work unless you fit the remote locking module which can be done easily, the wiring should be there

The remote will work with programming but you will have to get a new blade cut.New blade clips in to any fob like this

It should indeed have a remote key as well as the one pictured I would imagine someone has lost this and replaced with another standard key as these are cheaper.

You could always buy one and program it.

I just used the Jaguar key, it doesnt say Jaguar on it so it's fine. got the flip part with a blank blade off ebay, then got it cut, found the programming instuctions on the internet and coded both the central locking and the ignition too it, sorted.

Thanks for the reply guys.
