Is it just me or is 300 miles just about right for a full tank of fuel in the st 170? I can caine all hell out of it and the worst i do is 270 miles in about 4 days (i'm not talking about 140mph up and down the motorway all day long) but i can drive like an 80 year old and the best i've ever got is 305.
And does anyone rate any of the cleaner fuels like shell optimax and the other 2? i've ran 2 full tanks of optimax through and i aint gone any thurther or faster, the only thing i've noticed is the car sounds louder from 5,000 revs and upwards. Anyone else had this?

the more i cane it, the less i do
think ive done about 40 miles on a tenner before
on a full tank ive had over 400+ miles driving normal.
(not an st170 tho, just a 2L)
as for fuel, i cant tell a difference, even when i put optimax in the turbo i cant tell

Yep 300 miles on a tank of fuel is the average on my ST170.
I have managed 401 miles on a tank fo fuel but that is proper 60 mph cruising on motorway for 300 miles

Yeah - defo rate optimax in mine. Might be just me but mine seems to pull better (mid range torque) on optimax as opposed to 95ron premium.
Mine ran 168.7bhp on 95 ron, so would be interested to see what optimax does?

The ST170 engine has no way of knowing wheather you have filled up with 95 ron or 98 ron so its programmed for 95 ron to keep the engine safe

Now with the bluefin fitted you can reprogram the ecu to tell it your using 98 ron (optimax) and that could make a small difference

i drive a st170 and it gives me around the 300mile mark and i have to agree with andyrst optimax makes no difference and besides the engines designed to run 95 ron unless you do more mods where maybe you can then run 97 or 98 ron.

I don't think that you'll notice the difference on the road, if you drive on the track and keep the revs well up it will help a bit but don't expect to much. Also I don't know wether this is true but I've heard that Optimax actually cleans the engine as it goes? I think that this would be more beneficial than anything else if that is the case.
