Throttle Bodies
Can anyone help. I'm after a throttle bodie to fit mk1 1.6 zetec 2000 focus. I want to improve the acceleration and understand that the inlet hole being bigger will help this. What can I use for best and easiest fit without modifying attachment. Also I have been told that the ECU can reject the part and the engine may not start any suggestions anyone??

10K+ Poster!!
You will need a complete setup inc ecu and then having it mapped.
Jenvey throttle bodies on Omex management is a kit I recal seeing for those engines.
I'll do some looking about and post the info on here for you

A larger tb will only give you an advantage IF it is a restriction to start with, if going aftermarket or substantially different from std then management will need to be sorted as well.
Just simply putting on a tb from a bigger model if it fits is very unlikely to prevent it starting, but won't do any good, the ecu doesn't "reject" things as it doesn't know if it powering a mini or a jumbo jet, ie it doesn't know what it's attached to.
As a basic rule if the tb was a restriction enlarging would slow down air speed and lose low speed crispness/running.

I'm Finding My Feet Here Now
my friend put a stock 2.0 TB on his 1.6 and it works fine without ECU remapping... huge difference in throttle response and revving according to him...
considering how easy and cheap this mod is, worth doing
PS. AFAIR he just needed to make a new gasket, modify accelerator line (if that's how it's called in English) and reset the ECU, other than that P&P
