Default Exhausts!!?

hi, ive got a focus 1.6 zetec, ive tinkered with it abit on the outside, just trying to get it to look subtly different to the run of the mill 1.6 focus, and now ive decided im going to do some performance upgrades. already done the cold air induction kit so now im wondering about exhausts. currently im only after a cat back system as the bank cant handle a full system. ive been asking my mates about which is the best to buy and two main names keep poping up, mongoose and miltek. so which is best? or is there any others out there that are better? i know no theres not going to be massive hp gains at the moment but which will produce the most hp but not drone on motorways and not deafen the neighbours?
cheers in advance

I had a s/s Piper cat back (3.5" outward roll tip) on my Mk1 1.6 Focus (zetec-s engine). Rolling roaded @ 106bhp with it, but obviously that depends on the car. Cost about £290 fitted back then (2004 I think it was). It was a subtle tone when driving normal then louder at higher revs. It wasnt deafening either.

Down to personal preference really so long as it is one of the big names quality is very good, although as you indicated some do drone some not, as you are only going to buy it once, why not try to get a listen to some different systems at meets etc, might save you spending on something you're not happy with.

Hi there, I have had Milltek on both of my new Fords and they have been fantastic. Brilliant fit, very nice sound and don't drone.
I would hghly recommend it to anyone.
Have heard alot of people say the mongoose is really for the 2.5t Focus ST.
Hopet this is of some help mate.

thanks for the help guys, much apreciated, i think ive made my mind up and i think im going to go with the miltek, although its probably the most expensive, i think you get what you pay for, in this case quality, and that was what i was after.

Brilliant choice mate!! You will be very happy. Just fitted a sports cat from Milltek to my Focus RS yesterday and what a difference. Brilliant fit, so much lighter and alot better made.
Good luck with it all mate

Mongoose for everything cossie and for the Focus ST but you really cant beat the Milltek system. I have mates that have gone from mongoose onto Milltek with there RS focus because they have found it a bad system.
The problem being eveyone wants different things so really its what your happy with.
I gather by you pic you have cossies?
