Default Headlight Help??

Hey folks.. I'm finally putting my headlights back to standard, but I had to get the headlight connections off another Focus. Same year, so assumed same colours, but they're not.

Help/Wiring diagrams would be great!

Should be the same, what year is the focus? Could be on the changeover from when they fitted face lift lights?

My Focus is a 2001, the looms I chopped out of the donor car were 2001.. But some are different colours. I'm basically going back to standard.

The loom from the car has been chopped, I have replacements (but different colour wires).. the drivers side light is fine.. Just passenger side I'm struggling with.

How many wires have you got there? Looks like 5 in the first picture and 4 in the second?

Riiiight..

List of wires as follows:

From the car-
Black
Green with Orange stripe
Green with Black stripe
Orange with Blue stripe
Blue

The "New" (standard) connector-

Black
Blue with Red stripe
Green with White stripe
Orange with Green stripe
Green with Orange stripe

Now, I am a complete 'tard when it comes to electrics, but I've figured that the black goes to the black (earth?). The rest I have no frikkin idea!

Is some thicker than others? the thinnest ones probably go to the adjustment motor, the other three would be earth (black), dipped and main beam. Shouldn't be too hard to have a swap around until you get it right. I would go out and have a play with a multimeter on mine, but its got factory xenons so the wiring is completely different!

You say one side matched up fine? Because the wire colours are different on each side.

The only thing to do is use temporary connectors and test the lights and the different functions, you shouldn't cause any harm.
Just make sure you lost the order in what you test and the result you get.
