Hi folks,

Last year around August time my partner reversed my car into a kerb hight bollard and broke the rear right hand side suspension on my 1999 Focus. I had the car repired and all was well for the next month. It's very important that I stress to you guys that after the suspension was fixed, I was listening out for any odd noises from the car of the car as it had just been fixed and I know that there were no noises coming from the suspension at all.

In September I took it to my local Ford garage for its MOT and when they had given it a going over they called me later that day and ran through a whole list of things that needed fixed but some weren't essential to pass the MOT. One of them was my rear light which I had checked the night before taking it for the MOT and knew that all my lights were working. Something else that he mentioned was the noise from my suspension. The way that he put it to me was as if it was something that I should have noticed before. I told the guy that there were no knocking sounds coming from anywhere in the car to which he replied there is now.

Anyway to get to the point, when I picked my car up later that day it was making the knocking sound from both the front and rear suspension. According to them it could be fixed easily by tightening it all back up again but it would cost be about 250 euros for the front and then the same again for the back.

Since then I have lived with it, but over time it has gotten progressively worse and I hear the knocking when going over the slightest bump on the road. I'm going to have to get it fixed soon but I was hoping that you guys could tell me how much I should expect to pay for something like that to be done. I definetely won't be taking it to the same garage again though that's for sure. Any advice that you guys can give me on this would be greatly appreciated.
