am building myself a zetec turbo using a black top N/A engine from a focus.

i am now strugling to find a suitable cam choice, can anyone suggest a suitable cam that will fit the blacktop and is the correct profile for a turbo engine? have only seen that kent do upgrades for the RS so far, do any others do one?

 

depends on turbo choice, power goal and power band range

Standard cams will be fine for 400bhp

For big power ie larger turbo and more boost you will need more lift and duration IMO but this will sacrifice lower end pull and give more lag which will make the engine more peaky

 

Crower cams do a special cam they call a forced induction special which is designed for turbo'd blacktops. It's a stage 2 fast road cam deisgned specifically for turbo applications (or so they say)
