Ford Focus 1.6 SE Estate - Aircon problem
hello,
just a quick question, i went to test my dads car today which is a 1.6SE Estate on a Y reg (2001), anyways it took me a while to find the low pressure port under the drivers headlight, but when attaching a testing tool it tells me that the PSI is between 65 and 200 which cant not possibily be right, i think i have a majour fault but im not to clued up on air con systems but am very capeable of undertaking any work required (unless it HAS to be done by ford etc)
any help will be very helpful but as it took me such a long time to find the port, i thought i would ask you guys first.
thanks in advanced

I assume from your reading you are using a normal tyre pressure gauge ?
If so this is the problem, as the pipe here will contain a mix of gas liquid.
If there is a problem with the air con(?) just get it regassed about £60 and they will test for leaks, relube and regas all in one.
Unless you know what you are doing this stuff is not to be messed with.

Thanks for your reply,
its a propper air con tester and their are no leaks since their is to much pressure in the system its self, ive never worked on a focus air con system and since we got it, we noticed it wasnt pumping out cold air.
so i got a professional air con test equipment including plenty of 134a gas cylinders but it deems silly to put more gas in when the indicated pressure is above the normal 30/35psi..
im not sure if its a common problem for the condenser to go or anything like that?
