Default hello focus 1.8 lx problems

first hello as im new and dont want to sound impolite
ive a focus 1.8 lx zetec engine thats using fuel and throwing a bit o whiteish grey smoke out the back. good compression runs lovely
now sometimes whilst changing gear revs are high then drops back down seems to happen till engine warm or a good 10- 15 mins ie slowing down waiting at lights etc

ive checked dtcs on digital dash didnt throw any faults up so plugged in me obd4000 diag on me lappy to which that also threw up no faults
reason i have obd is because previous garages ripp off bils to check other cars ive had
also cars not using oil water etc so am asking here firstly before costly bills entail, and since cant get a fault code im at a loss
many thanx

to be realy honest i couldnt tell you re service car was stood for a mnth and is the way i purchased ive intention on doing a service but before i did i am asking here because want to see if its standard focus issues or if was anything else id need whilst giving it a service do ething at once so to speak
mainly asking because of the slight over reving as if choke sticking on and if is would that be temp sensor? or best give service first then see?
thanx for youre reply

Never know it to happen to focus's, maybe give it a good service and use some fuel addatives to clean the injectors etc to flush out anything that maybe clogging it up.

Then see if you still have the same problems.

i'd recomend a service,
some fuel addative too
if car has been stood maybe jus stale fuel, if this doesnt cure the problem, it could be down to a lamba sensor not working properly. if the ecu thinks the lamba sensor is working fine it wont show any faults,

does your OBD4000 show real time running??
if so drive down road with it plugged in and check peramiters of things i.e lamba sensor
throttle postion
things like that

does it hold back on power at all? i.e struggle to rev sometimes?
if it does then could also be related to lamba sensor, or maybe somthing alot simpler i.e knock sensor

thanks for replies
the car doesnt hold back to be honest it goes like f*** just the bit of smoke and the slight over revving it does when stopping at say lights ill try explain bit better
i obv dip clutch foot on brake car revs up to rouund 2000 revs n fetches itself back down to round 800 revs does this till warm and then is fine
other than this and the smoke car seems cock on i will be doing the service under advice from youre goodselves on here looks like im getting round 90 to 100 miles per 20.00 taking it steady thats the main concern
so ill service it see any differences and if can suss the diag soft ill plug lappy in and give it a go thanx all again

if its doing it until warm maybe a sensor for temp is faulty,

as for smoke, at a loss tbh mate, could be a number of things,
try service 1st see how that goes,

as for fuel consumption that will be down to the high revving as i rekon off hand the car is overfueling cause it things its cold

Unplugg your MAF, if it gets better clean your MAF.

Default update

ok here we go been playing with multimeter reading values on sensors
underside to right above manifold is a sensor relating to carb i think idle control or iac its called unsure but that sensor is reading 0.00 ohms
im assuming this is the sensor thats at fault was reading it should be round 9 ohms to clarify this is attached to carb and is a twat to get to on the underside

im giving it a service as said during course of this week coming so is that the possible cause if so is this the fault that ive been reading about on forums relating to over revving etc
