Default Changing The Front Diff?

Well i drove my friend FRS last night and was amazed with the power (300bhp) but i hated the way the car was pulling itself in different directions. Obviously it's the diff and was wondering if that could be changed to make it a better handling car or if someone has already done it?

I really want to buy one but i don't think i'd be able to get use to the Diff, so i would like to change it.

Default Diff

Don't think you will find changing the diff will help much. It is fitted with Qauife ATB diff as standard.

300 bhp through 2 wheels is quite high. May be some suspension mods may help

Hi stillbornhq, has your friends Rs got the pink throttle grommet, I think when Ford did the update on the Rs they fitted a different diff that doesn't make the car torque steer as much.

so you don't want it to pull to the sides. Well i suggest you sell your ATB diff and buy a standard one, instead you will go up the road with wheels just spinning but doing nothing else.

Im pretty sure that the diff was change when Ford updated the seats and other bits, I asked my friend that’s had quite a few focus rs’s and he’s told me to make sure that when I buy one in april it has the pink grommet because they don’t torque steer as much as the original cars

Hi

I suggest that is you don't like the way the RS drives don't buy one....

The diff is fitted for a reason and that is to keep the car on the road, up to 300bhp is enough of the front wheels to be using, but with no diff it would be 1 st corner ditch here i come.....

Regards

not true the car torque steers because of the diff. but the diff makes the car the part. would be safer with a normal diff but you won't accelerate very fast.
