6k will get you a solid built 400Bhp FRS so wtf has 13k been spent on??
Seeing as your not too far from Lincoln, Zetec guru - Ian Howell will be your best bet.
01522 877887 or iHowell@anglianwater.co.uk
Let us know how you get on

To be fair the £13k isn't just on the engine it's basically a new shell that been built up...
As said mate, you could try Ian, but I see your from Skeggy, so your probably closer to Harvey Gibbs @ SCS in Peterborough, Ian does alot of his tuning thru him anyway...

Good news mate, i'd consider one of the GT series turbo's rather than a T4, also if your thinking of upgrading the turbo you may wanna think about swapping from a charge cooler to a Intercooler, as a bigger turbo will increase the the temps right to the limit of the standard set up...
If your gonna do that, then it may be worth hanging fire on the viper kit (do they do one for the FRS?) as you need to relocate the battery to where the airbox currently sits, and relocate the airfilter!!
As it's Xmas there isn't a meet this month but it's back on from january, i'll PM you my number!!

Yes they do make one, as I've just fitted one to mine.
The airfilter on the FRS does not sit where it does on a 1.4/1.6/1.8/2.0 Focus, it actually sits in front of the battery (underneath). Attached to the turbo. So a Viper kit would be fine.
And if you upgrade to a GT28 or a 30, you will deffo require an Air to Air cooling system as GtechR mentioned. But you will need to replace the charge box with the battery, not the battery with the filter. You get a panel with the intercooler kit to mount the battery...

A T3 no... a GT30 yep. lol!!
Depends what ya wanna do really mate and how much you have to spend, if you can afford it then yeah i'd say o for it, as it will really improve the car. but don't get it mapped till you've done the mechanical side of things as it would need mapping again...

The Focus RS uses a Newer version (GT Series) Turbo, Smaller in size in comparison to the equivelant old (T) Turbo, the have roller bearings and in general are far more efficiant(sp?)... I'm not sure a T4 would actually fit, and if it did to be honest i'd gess it would be far too 'laggy'.
As for the Cossie I/C I doubt it would fit mate, the Pro Alloy one for instance has been specially designed and comes with all the mountings etc...
have a look here > www.turbodynamics.co.uk for info on the turbo
and here > www.proalloy.co.uk for the intercooler

TBH pal, and this isn't to knock your car or creat arguments etc. But I really do think that £13-14k is way too much for your car. At the end of the day, a person could buy that mint Focus Cosworth that was on sale for the last 2 months for around £13k. But that car had everything done, pure perfection. AP's, flocked dash, RWD, 350bhp, custom everything, fuel cell etc.
To interest real buyers, you'd be better off starting at a realistic figure such as £7,500. That's with everything working perfectly.
If I was to sell mine, which is near perfection, paint work, underneath and all, with a lot of custom parts and everything done to the highest quality, I'd probably only recieve around £10k...or so the offers have been.

Got too say I do agree with Cochyn mate, the main problem you will encounter is the fact it's only a 1.6 shell on the logbook, and other than the colour is pretty much a Standard spec FRS.

TBH why would i want an old 1.6 focus with FRS running gear added for the same price as an original?
Also the fact the car sold for 7k on ebay not 5 min ago, what makes you think its now worth double what you paid for it.

Yes thats a fair point.
What i was saying though is that if you can buy a real RS for 13k then a replica is not going to be wrth anywhere near that money. It's never going to have the resale value of a real RS, or ever be recognised as one.
I dont have a problem with engine transplants, what i do have a problem with is people then thinking they are worth as much as an original!

And for £13k, I fook off the Focus RS and buy that proper quality Focus Cosworth that was on the cover of PF last month. Like the FRS should have been and more

I personnally i think the FRS is a stunning car and, does everything it needs to do and handles superd. Just because it doesnt have a 4x4 doesnt make it any less of a car. Its then like saying all FWD RS's don't deserve the badge which is total tosh.

Yes Shins, we are all thick! C'mon man, its obvious what I was refering too!

No, the new ST doesn't deserve the RS badge....the Focus RS deserves all due respect. But it would have been better if Ford would have released it in the spec they promised. Bit of a let down is all.
I went for the Focus RS conversion as no1 had done it when I did, and in the car with the styling and colour mine has. There were quite a few Cossie engine'd Focus's about, so wanted something a bit more reliable and unique than others.
Saying that, I'd still go for a Cossie RWD conversion...let's see how my plans go for this year
