FRS Turbo Problems??
How do you know if your turbo's given up the ghost?
On my way home this evening i noticed my boost gauge wasn't moving, this then drew my attention to the fact the car had no power when i put my foot down. I've checked that none of the hoses have come off, but that's about as far as i go when it comes to under the bonnet.
Can anyone give me some suggestions on what else to look for before i make the trip to Ford!
Thanks in advance
James

this causes no boost and "flat"power wise!

Very small E clip that holds the actuator arm to the wastegate, if thats off then you'd have no boost at all, should only cost you pennies to get a replacement though if I remember correctly the only way ford can get you a new clip is to order you a whole new turbo unit!

What sort of power will that give, 280ish?
Aye thats when it starts geting pricey!
You'll need a new decat aswell along with a modified bluefin map if I remember correctly. GT28 should see you into the 300's but lads running these are starting to blow head gaskets so be prepared for big bills

Yeah i've heard that as well, but it's gotta be worth it for the grin factor! Mind you i still need topull my finger out and go look at my turbo too see if it is that pipe that's come off
Ok thanks mate, I must admit i'm pretty shit when it comes to engines
It shouldn't be to hard if i 'm just looking for a rod that's come off! I'll pull my finger out and have a look at it tomorrow, and i'll let you know the out come. What wuld i ask for in the DIY shop if it is the clip that's come off?
Thanks for your help

If the rod has come off the wastegate you will need an E-clip, Couldn't tell you the size Im afraid though I doubt youd be able to buy them singularly.
