cold start
when ever it gets round to this time of year the wifes 1.8 focus struggles to start ,normally it fires straight away but when it gets a bit colder you have to crank the engine for around 10 secs,it then manages to fire but seems to run on 3 cyl for a few secs then it settles down to normal, after this first start of the day its perfect again and will start instantly till its been stood o/night again, its as if some cold start sensor isnt working, any ideas chaps?

update, the car has now started to hesitate on light/part throttle during normal driving,if you give it full throttle its perfect, the manual suggests the clutch pedal sensor, how does that work/ what does it do? its only a 5 min job to change it,but id like some info

the clutch pedal sensor is used to flair the revs between gear changes, it's supose to give a better smoother gear change!! i would see if there are any fault codes first before chunking money at sensors that are working fine hope this helps
