Default new guy from manchester - in need of input, cheers

hi all, my first post, its a last resort after trawling through all focus rs forums looking for info on the fault with my car, basically its a misfire/hesitation at around 5k - limiter in 3rd, 4th and 5th. its worse after long high speed run and stop then set off again full chat it backfires and really hesitates all the way through the gears, i really want to nail this problem as i am waiting to put more go fast bits on but dont want to mask the problem by adding them, i have changed to magnecor leads, new coil, new ngk plugs and dont want to keep blowing money just guessing. also may be unrelated but when revving past 5k i get a high pitch squeel which only came about when i fitted the k&n gen 2, i would greatly appreciate any help or suggestions guys! cheers.

spec - mongoose full system + de-cat, gen 2

any focus rs owners in the manchester area who fancy lending me a standard airbox to try and eliminate that would be magic! thanks.

AF Map has a well documented MISSFIRE/FLATSPOT @ 4500 rpm!

AE map, but you will have retricted boost in 1st & 2nd!

AE Map has worse fuel economy and has a habit of getting bogged down when you try to get it off the line!

I believe that COLLINS have a new WDS machine and can up load maps (their own) via the OBD port.

They can put on AE or AF or their own map that is the equivilant of BLUEFIN with the 4500rpm missfire removed!

nice one, do ford dealers no longer update the maps for you? i take it that the bluefin wont remove the misfire then as i was going to opt for one for the ease of the mil eliminator but might have to go and see collins instead now

Hi mate, Ford will automatically upgrade you to the newer map but sounds like you have it anyway!

Keep modding and forget about it mate, really isn`t worth bothering about, good to see another Manchester based man!

You need to be getting the ITV22`s mate with your state of tune, try Guy @ opie oils he`ll sort you out!

You may also want to think about a new product called Dreamscience, set to shake up the chip market and make Bluefin think too!
