Default Calling FRS owners who have owned an Esc Cos

Basically after seeing numerous Focus's at central day yesterday, they are growing more on me now. Im thinking of getting one next, maybe in a year or so. I have an Escort Cosworth now, small turbo converted to large and have also had a 4x4 sapph cossie and a few RS Turbos over 200bhp. How does the focus compare to these. Obviously arent quite as aggressive looking as an Esc cos but they are certainly beefy looking. How do they perform and is only being front wheel drive a problem?

Only problem and I mean only problem with FRS is getting power down to the road in the wet. If they made the FRS 4x4 it would be the complete package.

i sold my 400 escos in feb and got a focus on sat and the only thing i will say its just as good, on the back roads its miles better in hanlding but on the motorways and a roads over your way i think it would get pissed on by civic type r's etc, build quality it's far better no rattles

A standard CTR will run a standard FRS close until about 90mph in a STRAIGHT LINE.

Over 100 mph or on the twisty stuff, CTR's are nowhere to be seen!

Std Focus Rs will kill CTR i went to buy one drove the focus rs and the civic on the same day omg the civic is shit! the only problem i had was a clio sport but after i had got some speed up i started to pull on him.

Give the focus rs same bhp and a shit load of toque and your piss on most things.

In the dry the handling is out of this world my old man had a p1 scooby and it's easy as good round the back lanes.

Littel bit of rain or greases road and it game over but put an apexi boost controller in and you can take away some of the wheel spin.

Im looking for an escort cosworth at the mo what are they like mate?

Sounds like I will have to get a test drive in one! The Escort is a great car obviously more than just a mk 5 escort! Handling is good looks awsome and go well, only mistake I made was rly gettin a small turbo as I crave more power and its costly converting to large turbo. Also due to the cars now reaching ten years old and over rust is starting to surface in places nothing major but you now its starting and thought being as the focus arent as old wont really be an issue unless im told they have started already!

I really love the look of the cossie and it just one of them things ive gotta do in life.

You wont go wrong with the focus and they are quite easy to up the power and a very rewarding drive.

Yer ok ill keep in touch if im ever up your neck of the woods. I cant see a white one being a problem if its what you want. There seems to be a lot more for sale though and mallard ones for some reason, but if its what you want and your colour then dont let anyone stop you!

standard ctr v frs nothing in it IMO had burns with a few frs when i had mine including a 30-130 dash and bugger all init if anything the ctr if driven hard feels a sniff quicker

but if you have to keep the ctr in the vtec zone ie keeping changing gear else you get beat

Duncos has an esco and a frs and he says the escort is like a fast arm chair the frs demands consetration all the time !
