Default new brakes for focus rs ( AP`s now fitted with pics )

As i killed the brakes both front and rear on the focus round the track at bedford, i need new discs and pads but what do i get ????
could go with new standard stuff but i plan to do more track days and i dont think they will last a track day evern if new as i killed them in about 2 1/2 laps and as i have had very big brakes on my escort for years i have got use to them and found the standard focus brakes not up to the job around a track, so i think its AP time for the focus as the brakes took the shine off the day for me as the rest off the car was spot on i will post some pics when i get some in the mean time has any body uped the brakes and i dont mean the standard stuff but with red stuff pads and a few holes / slots in standard discs lol

Me too, I've ordered Ap 6 pots I asked to get them in red with white writing, should look good. How much did you pay? What are you doing for the rears? What pads you using?

Defo the way to go. I've kill mine at every track day, and as you've said, when I was at Bedford it took the shine off the day, although I had a set of glazed DS2500's on to start with. I had to settle for a fluidb (SRF) + pad (standard) change afterwards and they're fantastic again, just dredding the next track day!

keeping the rears standard at the moment and see what happens on track next time, but if they are a problem i will get a 300mm vented disc and put a 4x4 caliper or a hi spec / hand brake cailper on it

Bastard, would LOVE a set! Let us know how much better they are, I've drived AP equiped car's before and they're usually fantastic!

People usually keep the rear's standard on the FRS.

Did you get them through Rainbird? He's done my old chap two sets at superb prices in the past! At least he's cheap for one thing!

I ordered mine from woodford garage motorsport the do a big add in performance ford magizine the price was Ł1400 including vat. Mine were Ł1465 including postage and the extra cost to get them in RED. Think you'll have beat that price but I was happy as GG Racing was wanting more than Ł1800 for same product. I also phoned AP racing direct and the told me the retail price over the phone and it was something like Ł1376 + vat so think I did ok.

I'd have paid more just to get them in red anyway as I don't really like the black caliper behind the rims. I actually tried to get them in yellow but AP said only black or red!

They will be a vast improvement to current 4 pot Brembo's anyway. The guy at GGR said that the people who drive their car for the first time usually head but the windscreen at the first junction they com to.
