Default replace the subframe on my 2000 focus.

I wrecked my focus into a telephone pole this winter in indiana, its good &banged up. Needs the subframe replaced as it is cracked, along with the rear suspension arms. Not to mention the quarter panel, but i can fix that. Big worry is getting the old frame and arms off. I do not have access to air tools… to add to the fun. Anyone have any advice?? haha

Both the front and rear subframes are easy to remove.

The front a little more so as you have to split the power steering lines off the rack. For the front you need to use alignment pins to get it positioned correctly.
Three bolts each side

The rear if you have rear disc brakes is really easy, if you have drums them you need to split the brake lines and the pipe / hose junction and re-bleed when re-fitting. Five bolts each side.

Both are easy'ish jobs. I've done both with nothing more than a trolley jack and normal hand tools.

If you are doing the rear you should change the control blade bushes for which you need an extractor / installer tool.
