Default CMax Ti Vct problem

Hi there. I am a newbie to this forum. I am having a problem with my 05 C Max Ti VCT. Following a service and cambelt change at a non Ford garage, I have the an engine check light P0017 bank B cam timing error.
The engine runs fine from cold with full power and an even tick over. After 5 to 10 miles, when I stop and let the engine tick over, it becomes lumpy, the engine check light illuminates and the engine is quite lacking in power.
Once I have let it cool down, it runs fine again for a time then as above.
Engine has done 130,000 miles. The garage say the engine is timed correctly.
Until I had the cambelt changed the engine was lumpy on tickover but the check light did not illuminate.
Has anyone had a similar problem?
Thanks in advance for your help.

P0017 - Crankshaft Position - Camshaft Position Correlation - Bank 1 Sensor B
It's Sensor B and not Bank B.

Correlation generally means a timing problem, probably something wrong with the VCT control.

Thanks for the reply. Spoke to the garage yesterday - they still can't find the fault. Have checked timing and loom. I have a spare head that I am dropping down later today. Will see how that goes.
