I think the TDDI has a solid flywheel so perhaps your car is a TDCI in which case there is a solid conversion. If you have a bit of a search online you'll find a few conversion kits.

Transit Connects even the TDCI don't have a DMF. So use a flywheel & clutch for one of those.

I found this out the hard way, had a Connect with a running fault, Ford technical put it down to the DMF, Imagine my suprise when I took the 'box out to find a solid flywheel!!

Edit - It appears as above the TDDI does have a solid flywheel.

I bet you were surprised anyway the problem I have got is a nasty rattle coming from the gear box end ,this all started last September its not got any louder or worse ...took it to mr clutch they said that's your dmf mate ok I said thanks ....took it to a friends brother in law who has his own garage and he,s an old school mechanic ,even he said its your dmf ...when the engine is idling its noisy ,I press the clutch pedal in it stops ...from what you said gary im wondering if its my gearbox .....as for the flywheels im am now confused

and yes the transit connect has got the same engine as my focus......wonder if that noise is the layshaft in the gearbox ???

Some checks.

Press the clutch about an inch or two, and start the engine, then stop it.

If it's a DMF and it's failing, you'll feel a 'kick back' under your foot from the oscillations of the DMF elements.

Also if you start/switch off can you hear or feel any rattles as the engine fires up or when it shuts off?

Are there any vibrations coming through the car as you accelerate?

Make sure gearbox oil level is ok, it could be a gearbox noise of course.
