Programming Remote key issue
Hi all, i hope you can help me.
I have a 2005 focus (facelift) and my remote had suddenly stopped working today, so figured this was down to a flat battery as range has been quite poor recently.
So i put a new battery in and now it doesn't work at all.
I have tried reprogramming the remote key (with 3 buttons) with the ignition on/off 4 times, i hear a beep, press a button and hear another beep and then switch the ignition on to end the programming - but it will wont work...
I have also tried other methods as mentioned in other threads such as switching the ignition on/off 8 and 12 times, or trying with the doors initially locked but nothing works. i have also tried the first method but rather than ending it by turning the ignition on, i have waited the 10 secs for it to end instead, but still nothing..
i'm a bit stumped on this guys, does anyone know where i might be going wrong?
thanks!

First check the new battery with a voltmeter.
Not all "new" batteries are good.
Good deals on button batteries to be had on eBay, stick to branded batteries.
I had issues with an 04 focus. The new battery lasted only a few days, so I washed the fob in isopropyl alcohol (IPA)( Do this at your own risk!!), left to dry and reinserted a new battery. The remote has now worked for over 12 months.
