Could anyone tell me the problem i could be having, i started my Ford Focus diesel 2001 model, it started ok but as i drove of the car lost power and sounded like it was missing, i noticed through my rear view mirror is was blowing alot of blue smoke, then the car stalled, i got it towed home and it started ok plus idles fine, but when i rev it there is alot of blue and white smoke and sounds like it is missing still , i have checked to see if the head gasket had gone but seems fine, any help will be great. Is the engine sounding like it is chuffing on tickover under the bonnet ??

Injector seals could need replacing, or an injector itself

 

Thanks for your reply, it sounds to tick over normal but when i rev it i would say it wants to rev up but blows alot of blue and white smoke out, i have backed of each injector in turn and the engine drops down in running then i tighten it up and picks up. Ian

No i have not done that, could it be the pump !!!! Ian

 

It could be, blue smoke would indicate oil is being burnt though, if the smoke is black I would suggest it's fuel related.

 

It is blue smoke and lots when i rev it, if is was fuel it would be black i think, there is no white smoke or head gasket signs or water loss, i think could the head gasket have blown in between the oil ways and the cylinders where oil is leaking in. Ian
