a naturally aspirated engine like the long stroke zetec part from too few horses. it is not economically convenient. to my I have improved the headboard, the exhaust and the camshafts. I pulled 111 hp out of the wheel. before the map I was at 91 hp. at least the pair is now at 2500 rpm even if everything ends at 5,500.

You have the Zetec SE (Sigma) which was launched with the Focus.

The MK2 has the same engine and was additionally available with VVT.

The same engine is still used now in FI guise, just rebranded as ‘Ecoboost’.

The Zetec E is the 1.8/2L and are Mondeo engines (the latter is also referred to aaa a ‘blacktop’.

The engine you have responds well to
cams. For the power you want I seem to remember this at at the top of the tune and think cams, tb’s and an exhaust.

Shawspeed are the timing exprerts for these engines.

My Mk1 was a 1.6 but was the Yamaha developed Zetec-S. 99bhp standard, mine had a s/s cat-back and dyno'd at 106bhp.

The same 1600 was used across the range and was co developed between Mazda and Yamaha.

The Fiesta Zetec S then borrowed it.

The 1.4 is also the same engine, just smaller.

Early ones had Zetec S on the cam cover, while later ones had Zetec SE.

It was a great engine, very revvy. Just needed a little more power.
