just had this come up on the OBD equipment, the engine light is on and the turbo isnt boosting, is this usually a replacment turbo?
rather than replace can they be rebuilt? just looking for the cheapest option

I wouldn't be changing the turbo just on a fault code you'll need to do some more testing. what is the code description?

 

p0238 - Turbocharger Boost Sensor (A) Circuit High Input is present

 

There is a boost control valve bolted to the rear of the engine brown in colour if it's a dv6 1.6tdci I would be checking in that area first , vac lines no leaks and also electrical connector .

I'll be honest it came in as a part ex and im deciding whether to fix it or put to the auction, local lad rebuilds turbos for Ł175

and the next issue and i believe a common one, it has the odd hesitation at low revs, is it worth some injector cleaner and decent diesel?
