My frs does this when its really cold. Could be one of the door switches that brings on your interior light or boot switch. Worth checking these first

Sounds like one of the motors is cycling, disconnect each door multi plug in turn if you can get to the plugs and try it then.

try locking it with the passenger door
its quite common on the mk1 focus for the central locking to play up

Bonnet lock isn't connected to the central locking, only has an ajar switch for the alarm.

open the bonnet and keep tapping the bonnet ajar switch until it makes a beep
then open each door in turn and you will hear a beep
lock the drivers door then unlock
lock the passenger door and unlock
one of these will make a different sound this is the one that is playing up

That bonnet switch trick doesn't work on mk1 Focus to enter self-test mode.

tbh, your problem must be either a sticking latch or wiring fault going to one of the doors or tailgate

Have you tried checking the wiring where it goes into the tailgate, in case it's chafed and wires touching each other?

Given up trying to suss the focus CL.

When it rains mine just open and lock at random.

Sounds like doors are not registering as closing properly possibly.
