Default 1.4 focus erratic idling

If i unplug maf sensor it idles normally.... so would it be a faulty maf and is it better to clean or replace?

2000 model 1.4CL

No EML or codes shown

It doesn't have to be the maf, what you have prooven is that the signal of the maf is wrong.
The same problem can arise if there's an air leak after the maf.
Check all vacuüm hoses and gaskets.

This is very true...tried another 2 maf sensors today & still same problemo....
hoses etc look fine and what gaskets are u on about? Any in particular
