Default Turning off airbag

How do you turn of the passenger side front airbag ? (53 plate 1.8 Zetec) just it's a bit of a pain in the ass having my week old son in the back when I'm traveling without the mrs :-/

While I'm at it .... Is there any paticular power steering fluid I need as mine needs a top up .

You can't just turn off the airbag AFAIK, you would need to carefully disconnect it.
Power Stearing fluid - Automatic transmission fluid to Ford specification WSA-M2C 195-A.

Safest bet (as a child is involved) is to get a dealer to do it. They will fit te key switch and sort the ecu out.
You can wore up the switch your self to keep costs down and then take it to a stealer.

Ford can disable it for you, for peace of mind I would want it removed totally, I wouldn't trust an on / off switch fitted by a Ford monkey to guarantee the safety of my child. You might also need to inform insurance etc.

Personally I would leave your child in the back, if they require that much attention in the car when travelling on your own then I would make sure you carry another passenger. We left our daughter to her own devices in the car from a very early age, she now just pleases herself for hours when in her car seat!

Granted every child is special but we have had a rough few years to get our little boy , he wouldn't be here if it were not for the NHS , thus why I'm a bit of a worrywart lol guess we will get used to it
