did all focus's come with ABS as standard or an option extra wen they were first released

 

they all come as stranded mate

 

mine dont seem to have it, its locks up in the snow and theres no brake pedal judder of it kicking in or attempting to or ABS light lit up on the dash

 

what model/year is your car mate ?? will have a look in the owners manual for you

hi could you tell me if the 1.8 zetec 2000 x-reg has abs as standard? had the car a week, iv also no abs light come on when i turn ignition on so im suspecting it doesnt. i would find a private road and slam on but every time iv been out in the car iv had my kids in there so i havnt been able to test lol

 

I think remember seeing on a website the zetec spec came with ABS as standard, just the LX that didnt

 

It varies mate, you tend to find traditionally with Fords that early examples, like the one in question were poorly equipped and later models got more.

So by that I would say that car does not have ABS, to confirm this look at a wheel hub, the absence of wheel sensors confirm this, plus the fact his ABS light does not illuminate, which is unlikely to be faulty.

Also you can also find find equipment that was present on a trim level miraculously disappears lol, one example of this is a Sierra Ghia, these had foot well lights from the new, then they disappeared and then reappeared again.

2003 onwards LX models do have ABS.

The cl lx and zetec models didnt have abs as standard.It was an optional extra.

No, unless it was specified as an option or is a high trim level, if you did have it the ABS light would illuminate when the ignition was switched on.
