Default Mk1 flickering headlights !?

Hi again all , mrs noticed last night whilst i was following her home that my headlights are flickering on dipped beam to the point that she actually pulled over as she thought I was flashing her , when I parked up at Home I sat there in the car with it running and the lights on and sure enough every now and again it gives a flicker , almost like a power surge or something is this a common issue or has it been heard of , just got the car and dont really know much about focuses

sounds like it could be damp in a connector or a bad ground.

try unplugging the lamps and checking the terminals and cleaning the earth up

I am having the same problem although every light flickers dash included, some mentioned to me about the alternator being on its way out so I bought a tester but don't know where to attach connectors on the alternator to test it

My headlights dip from time to time but I think the battery is dieing as the indicator on the top of it is red lol the actual flickering I was referring to seems to be the drivers side bulb holder rattling slighty which is magnified hugely when driving at night, I'm yet to sort it out tbh.
