Default 1.6 zetec conversion

Hi I have a mk1 1.6 zetec focus. I am going to put a 1.4 head on it. 1.8 valves would be best are they the same length as 1.6? Any help is welcome thanks

First off why fit a 1.4 head its got smaller valves (please dont say is to higher your comp ratio as you can get your 1.6 head skimmed to the same)

and i dont think the zetec-e valves will even fit in the zetec-se head.

if i was you either fit a 1.7 engine or fit a 2.0 engine both go easy into the focus and you can do it your self for less than £400 with 30bhp gain. (2.0s abit more straight forward as you dont have to mess around with the wiring as much)

I know you can skim the 1.6 although I think the 1.4 would work better. I can get one for about £50 as well. Do you know if the valves are the same length?

not really you can skim the 1.6 head right down to the limit just before it hits the valves 1.4 wont be any better.
where you going to? it only costs £40 to have the head skimmed.
mite be the same length but thay mite not sit the same way in the head you'll need to get one of each and check if there the same or not (just with bigger ends).

The 1.4 head surely has smaller ports valves than the 1.8 head? Sorry but I think your going on a time wasting and money wasting way. Get your 1.6 head skimmed, and polished and ported. put some lairy cams in and you will feel a big difference. or drop a 1.8 or 2.0 engine into it. Personnally after more than one person has advised this to you I would seriously think that they are offering you good sound advice.
