not really you can skim the 1.6 head right down to the limit just before it hits the valves 1.4 wont be any better.
where you going to? it only costs £40 to have the head skimmed.
mite be the same length but thay mite not sit the same way in the head you'll need to get one of each and check if there the same or not (just with bigger ends).
