Zetec S 2.0L petrol (145ps)
Hi chaps, Looking for a 2.0L zetec S.
Seen a nice black one 3dr 09 plate in exellent nick (apparently) 25000k miles, 18'' alloys, fsh.etc etc, any idea of what i should be paying for a car of that description? don't wanna pay over the odds. (sorry new to fords, will be my first one)
And when i do manage to get one, what kind of mods can i get done that won't break the bank, and what can i expect to get in terms of BHP gains?
Cheers

Very nice car, ive the 2.0 petrol in a mk2 Titanium and it goes well - so much nicer to have that bit extra power over the 1.6/1.8s. Not fantastic on petrol, but not woeful either - it averages around 33mpg with a fair bit of town driving - the same as my uncles mk2 1.6 petrol. Very reliable too.
I dont know what you should be paying, we paid 7k for a 3yr old 2.0 Titanium with 22k from a Ford dealer (which was a bargain IMO) but now the new shape is out, i would go in a fair bit under the asking price. The Zetec-S is quite desirable though.
Power wise, i dont see why you shouldnt see similar gains to a Fiesta ST tuned - they are the same engine - although I think the Fiesta has a single mass flywheel. I would phone around some established Ford tuners and ask. A bluefin remap and k&n panel filter should easy an easy 160bhp (under 300 quid all in)

Thanks for the reply,
Been having some trouble finding a nice 2.0l zetec S, there is a nice 1.8l not to far away, altho kinda had my heart set on a 2.0, altho is there much difference between the engines and how much modding can be done? just want a reasonably nippy car not a supercar, dont want to spend a fortune either, just love the look of the zetec S tho
Would it be worth buying a 2.0l zetec for cheaper and then buying a body kit and geting it fitted? would that turn out exensive with buying the kit, fitting, resprays etc?
Cheers

The 1.8's arent a slow car, still a fair bit quicker than the 1.6 - but to be honest all 3 are so similar fuel consumption wise you may as well have the 2.0. If a nice 1.8 came up id certainly consider it.
I'll be honest and say I would go for a nice sea grey/black 3dr Titanium, you can pick them up for little more than a Zetec and the spec is unreal; auto wipers, auto headlights, climate, auto dimming mirror, reverse parking sensors, half leather, Sony MP3 Headunit with 6 disc, built in Factory Bluetooth, voice control, ipod connectivity, mini radio (with main headunit control) in the back so 2 people can plug in their earphones...i could go on..
I picked up a 3yr old 2.0 Titanium in Sea Grey with 22k and full ford history for 7k, it was absolutely mint too.
So much car for the money IMO.
