Talking turbo conversion

hi all
i drive a 2000 1.8 focus today ive been offered by a good friend his rs manifold i kno i could use this to turbo mine but still unsure what else exactly id need other than the turbo and remapping of course could some one write me up a list of what i will need please

You'd need the manifold, turbo, oil feed, oil return, intercooler & pipework, inlet manifold and throttle bodies, a way of telling the ECU how much boost the turbos making (you may have to go for an aftermarket ecu), and at minimum You'd need a decompression plate for the engine, you should really build a low comp engine though.

yea ive been looking at megasquirt ecus that should do the job i didnt think id have to uprate the throtle bodies if i kept the boost low as im tryin to do this on the cheap jus got enough money at present to get a good ecu the source a turbo a t25 would be alright wouldnt it then get the odds and sods as i can find them ow i got the stock intercooler and piping off the rs as my mate has just uprated his how would i feed the oil? would i have to tap into the block somewhere?

Don't know how strong the 1.8 is. Try find out how much boost the PowerWorks Supercharger kit puts out, that can be run on standard internals. If you go for around about that pressure you should be safe?

im not sure what they can take but i only want it low til i can afford to start uprate the engine its jus ive got a chance now to turbo it on the cheap ive already got in touch with a mate whos jus ordered me my megasquirt ecu an got me a garret t25 turbo so i see a week off work coming soon haha jus need to source the stuff for the oil feed now

do you mean gt25 as this is the standard rs turbo.
