Well lads and ladies, happy New year first of all. My mk5 01 feista is acting strange in the past few days, when I turn it on, put it in gear and go to drive, the revs just drop and the car dies, it happened Wednesday morning, yesterday morning and yesterday evening ( while I was in a multi story car park, real oh shite moment). After this happens about 3, maybe 4 times, it starts and drives. There would be a slight chugging sound and the car would be a bit shakey and the rev needle would go from 700 to 1000 a few pins times. The yellow engine light would flash and it'd drive away like normal after that but the engine light stays on. It's the 1.25 motor I have, only about 115000 on the clock, surely the engine isn't fecked? I've only had the car 3 weeks. Any ideas?

 

problem happened again last night for the first time in a while. any ideas?

 

Sounds like it could do with a new coil pack, leads and plugs.
