Default S2 idle when cold

When cold my S2 sounds like its only firing on 3 cylinders. As soon as its driven 3 meters it runs perfect until the next morning when it does it again!

How can I sort this??

thanks

test your heated seat fuse mate as it controls the black fuel ecu and coldstart valve

Heated seat fuse??? I got an H reg escort rs turbo , wish it had heated seats though

If its a tad rich or lean I want to worry How does it make it do this?

My cold start injector isn't connected any more so is the valve doing something else?

Thanks for replies, hopefully will get to the problem very soon

i know they have not got heated seats thats why ford put the fuse there for the black fuel ecu it will not run right without it as it controls the fueling

as posted by Stu @ M Developments

Briefly:
The KE Jetronic system has ELECTRONIC enrichment via the black box.

This enrichment box is responsible for:

Choke:
Additional fuel when cold to make her start.

Part load accel:
Additional fuel when accelerating.

Full Load Accel:
This is the important one. This ecu is responsible for increasing the differential pressure in the metering head and thus givig you the extra fuel for the boost.

Fuse:
The ERST has a different wiring harness to the normal escorts and the heated seats fuse is in fact the engine management fuse on an RST loom. Sadly, Ford didnt ever bother making a new lid for the box to illustrate this fact
