Default Anyone using or tried a volvo intercooler

Hello all as above, i was down the scrap yard the other day and saw a volvo turbo and the intercooler is very big and looks really good.Im thinking of sticking it in my bro's car but wanted to check to see if they are any good.

The Volvo and Saab Intercoolers are commonly used in Jap cars such as 200SX's as a cheap alternative to a proper Intercooler kit.

They have great surface area, but remember that Volvo's and Saab's run relatively low boost and as such these Intercoolers aren't great for flow.

A Cossie Intercooler would be a better bet IMO and can be bought for peanuts these days.

mates dad had a new s60 t5. the cooler was massive in surface area but quite thin.

not sure how good it would be on high boost applications??

no point in shelling out 3-400 quid if your only gonna be running 10-12 psi.!

ok cheers all, yeah should only be about £20, i have a 2wd cooler knocking about might try that.
The volvo one has to be better than the standard ford one, its the same thickness as the pro alloy one i had on the old fez turbo. His cars only running 12-13psi

Cheers
