Default 16" mondeo cosworth look wheels rubbing on rear. HELP!

my mates got the 16 mondeo alloys wich look like cosworth ones on his series 2 and on the rear they rub. i think theyve got 205 or 195 rubber on them, cant quite remember.

would a worn bush on the rear cause this????
also hes just had a new rear arch fitted, should the arches need rolling to accomadate these wheels?

is there any other reason the car would star doing this? would worn rear shocks or springs cause this? i think its lowered 30- 35 mm

any help would be greatefully recieved as i want to buy the car of him, but not if the wheels are rubbing.

ive 205 on my own car and have plenty of room. i think they might already be 195.

would 205 definatly rub on a car without rolled arches?

If the arch section has been replaced it is possible the dimensions may be out slightly causing it to catch. I've done virtually nothing to accomodate the 205's on my Escort.
