rs turbo water and oil mixing
ok guys i put a post up about this a few days back and basically the guy whose looking at my car is asking me tofind out some stuff.
ok so im gettin oil in the water but imgetting no mayo on the dipstick or oil cap, compression is good, oil pressure is good, done over 100miles with no overheating, boost is good and there is no lackof power. and its not using any oil or water. Could it be a crack in the turbo between the oil and waterways? if so would it be ok to bypass the turbo and go s1 style?? i do have a spare turbo but it was a little smokey and then theres the hassle of changing it or could it still be the head gasket?
and just toconfirm that the head gasket is a dodlle on an rs?!?!

JIMMY,
you can run the turbo as s1, without damage, is it definitely oil in the
water, or crankcase gase's of the combustion chamber, either way i
would say it is related to the headgasket, as for the water to mix with the oil, if you have a leakage type compression test instead of the normal
comp test, it should put some light on the subject, Yes depending is fairly
easy to do head gasket on the rst.

Bit strange that your not loosing oil, if it is going into the coolant then surely the level on the dipstick will drop because its not returning to the sump, its going else where into the coolant

wouldnt swap just just yet, does sound like it could be from last time it went. you said u havent had any problems with the running of the car, might bw worth give the bottle and the rad a flush out, stick a garden hose down em, see how you go from there
dont think the xr2i would be as fun!
