Default Engine comparisons

Just say we have 2 engines, both have the same:

Ported head
Uprated cam
Vernier
Low compression
Hybrid turbo
2.5" exhaust
GRS cooler

Both are running 16 psi but one is a 1.6 CVH and the other is a 2.0 ZVH.

Would there be a noticable difference in the power outputs of the 2 engines, i know the torque figure will be higher on the bigger engine but would it improve drivabilty or create more wheelspin/torque steer.

ruins gearboxes, wheelspins, and runs out of puff earlier.

The ZVH is wrong in alot of respects. The stroke is too long, the rod stroke ratio is wrong. It depends on what you want. They can make a good road engine, with less lag, but if it's ultimate peformane u are after, the 1600 wins by a mile.

My 1600 is so smooth to drive, its suited perfectly to the car. There is little point in having all ur toruqe at 3000rpm as it becomes a wheelspinning mess. On the 1600's it comes in more gradually, and u can rev it to well over 7k. Other problems with the zvh is sourcing pistons and rods for a big power one. If you really want out right peformance, u destroke the CVH to under 1500cc!

Rick
well if you dont want it to be a torque monstor by a proper boost controller and have low boost in lower gears and have it set high once you in third and up!

i ve had a cvh and it pissed me off havin a lot of lag due to a bigger turbo it was all or nothing! my fault for puttin it on!

with the zvh it there straight away! all the way through to the rev limit of 7200!

as for rods and pistons they are quite redily avalible! granted not as easy as the cvh but then again the zvh conversion aint a standard fitment that every piston manufacters caters for!

bhp sells engines! torque makes a fast road car!
