Default Which front mount intercooler.......?

Looking to upgrade my pace intercooler for a front mount item over the winter.

I could do with some advice over which intercooler to go for.

If anyone who's got one could give their oppinions and what they recommend?

Thinking about the GRS intercooler, like the look of it and doesn't seem too badly priced...

Many thanx, Mark

As above

You'll be able to get a rpo alloy item quickly if you are in a hurry, otherwise will be a few weeks wait I'd imagine as Graham works alone in his spare time

Thanks, i'm in no rush as I probabily wont use the car much over the winter anyway. I like the look of the GRS intercooler personally.

What would be best for my car? It's a 2.0 zvh, running 232bhp at 14psi if that helps...

By using a larger intercooler will I loose boost pressure through the intercooler?

Cheers for your advice

as far as bosst pressure goes , i dont know, also i thought they all look more or less the same, what little you actually CAN see ,your best bet is to do a poll asking whos using what , go from there ??

i would think they are all well made , if i didnt have the grs, id be quite happy with any other large capacity ic, its just air right...................

Ok, so who's using what cooler and is happy with the results that it gives?

Also how long roughly is the waiting list to get a GRS item and where from? Is it the Evo 4 that is the latest out now?

Cheers

fpmsl what a load of absolute bollocks. I use the large Pace and it IS the fucking bollocks. Perhaps you should try a product before slagging it off

ditto m8, take a look in PF intercooler test when they tested it and see for yourselves if the front mount pace is any good. The results speak 4 themselves......plus its my car they tested it on

Graham is now up to the Evo 5. He now uses one piece end tanks for strength and can do the collers in a really nice brushed finish. I can't recommend GRS enough.

Graham makes the best bolt on intercoolers at the moment

Cheers for all your advice and oppinions, think i'll probabily go for a GRS cooler. Keep the oppinions coming in though

Right, next thing is how much is a pace intercooler worth? With the fitting kit. Got a couple of people interested in mine when i get my front mount.

Just not sure how much to ask for it?

Thanks people!

Hmmmm, I was thinking about Ł120ish, wasn't sure what they went for though...

Any other oppinions on intercoolers? and if i go for a GRS will my fan still fit between the rad and intercooler? Bought an uprated fan (spal) and pace rad a few months ago and don't really want to spend out on another new fan think it's about 55mm thick.

Cheers for any help!

Because the cost is higher than others, people are blinkered and against the cooler because of the name Pace. Which in all fairness was exactly what you did. Assumed it was shit because of the performance of their other RST intercooler.

I think the thing is there are quite a few excellent options open for the RS Turbo owner whereas when I first started the only upgrade was the dinky Pace item.

Thanks for all your input. Anyone know about the fan clearance issue I mentioned? Just wanted to check this before I ordered one up?

The pace frount mount is the only one with a reverse charge carrier, so its not sitting directly over a red hot turbo
each to their own I suppose

Tony Turbo what was actually the downfall with christians pro alloy cooler? a mate of mine runs a Pace full front mount cooler...runs about 240hp with boost peaking at 23psi IIRC and ACT's didnt go above 35degrees when AB was setting it all up

i was going to go down the Pro Alloy route but after hearing the problems with C+B had i think ill DEF need something different LOL
