holy shit! there is water squirting through the left hand side of the block,
its coming out of the side of the head, through the 2p piece (i think its called a breather blocker?)

if its under eth distributor u poke it on 1 side with a drift (or sumthin that wont poke thru easy) and tap it with a hammer, it should then spin round a little so you can extract it (there only press fit) then pull it out, clean teh hole get another plug (halfords and the like dont usually have em but motorfactors and that sort of place should) stick a little sealer round teh edge and with a suitable sized socket and extension knock it inplace nice and square,
eh voila
dont knock it too hard tho u may damage it or lose it

opps reading again if ur sayin left hand side is cambelt end then it may be abitch to get to, u may have to move the in the way bits 1st (thinkin on it i think teh cam pulley will be in teh way, mite be able to work round it tho)
if ur a bit clueless get the muppet that poked a hole in it to change it for free

nowt behind it mate, just the water jacket where the water flows, nothing really there to damage
could pierce it and pull it out with a hook i spose i have done in the past, i just pref the spin it round approch
sealant wise sumthin engine orientated like hermatite i spose would be best
no window mastic mate
