knock sensor

Default knock sensor

ive tested it with the multi meter and i get no reading is this normal if it is why cant i just disconect it so it dosnt pick up any knocking from the engine

I might be wrong but I thought it needed to be connected if the ECU is a series 2 one as it needs to detect the knock sensor to run correctly.

take the sensor out of inlet manifold and bubble wrap it up then cable tie to something, leave connected

as for saying disconnect it - it's rubbish, typical i heard it on passionford so must be true speak

dont disconnect anything unless advised to by a tuner or YOUR tuner

Mind block the hole up, someone said you dont need too but i checked with a screwdriver and it went right the way in

yes i have a spare one to block up the hole
will the unscrewed one in buble wrap need to be earthed? ill try it anyway

How on earth do you check a knock sensor with a multimeter?

Unfortunetly it's not that simple.

And you can't disconnect it, as ur car WILL run like a sack of shit.
