Default Oil psi

Just fitted a gauge on my car today and was reading 50-60 on idle with a cold engine but once i left work and was in heavy traffic in the town the reading dropped to 20-30 on idle with a hot engine

it will allways drop when the engine is hot! mine reads 90 when cold on idle and 40 when hot! did you fit the sender that came with the gauge?

20-30 on idle sounds about right. Idle oil pressure mean nothing. It's on load at 5000 rpm it matters
