Default Help Needed!! PLEASE

Im having trouble with my `89 RS Turbo!!

Its difficult to start n when it does eventually fire up it refuses to idle properly!! Its sparking fine n it is fuelling when the metering flap is pushed down.

Iv disconnected the cold start which made no difference, iv disconnected the multiplug on the side of the metering head which again made no difference!! Iv changed the pump, accumalator, ECU and Pink fuel pump relay. Iv checked the fuse for the heated seats n its ok. Im now running out of patience n cash!!

Has any1 got any idea of what else it could be or shall i just change the metering head as this is the only thing i havnt changed??

Any help appreciated!! Thanks

also check the dipstick is sealed properly at the top

the hard plastic pipe what goes to the metering unit hasnt been burnt through a small hole can cause problems

any of the breathers from the rocker cover split?

take your dumpvalve off (if u run one)

cam/ingition timing out?

fuel ecu?

boost hoses split somewhere

give these a try mate

hmmm, has a sump gasket recently been changed, or is it leaking?
If you advance or retard the camshaft, does it make it idle better? - if it does, i would guess you might have a vacuum leak somewhere.

Try turning the co2 adjustment screw on the inlet manifold, anti-clockwise i believe, this might help also.

Let us know how you get on
