S2 Problems please help
Hi all i am fairly new here and have some questions about my RS turbo S2 and hope someone may be able to help me out...
1. The dump valve is sticking ie while the turbo is on it hisses constantly and only "dumps" a little, i have tried clening and oiling it but nothing any ideas....i may take it off is this easy? it is a baileys piston dump valve
2. The car judders at speed and at low speed while braking....i have had new discs and pads and also had the wheels balanced...????any takers?
3. I have just had the Head gasket done and skimmed etc also the sump gasket.....now the car has a noise at low revs through to med revs like a fast bangingish time noise not too loud but you can hear it????it seems if you accelerate slow it comes like a vibration and gets worse but doesnt if you boot it (it kind of misses the prob if that makes sense?) maybe a bearing????? thanks for reading and if you have any ideas they would be greatly apperciated

Firstly ditch the dump valve, rs's dont like piston dump valves they run much better without them.
How many miles has the engine done a tinny banging sound from bottom end is normally rebuild time

I'm not expert, but for point 2, it could be sometihng along the lines of tracking. Maybe a worn bush around the anti roll bar.
Best bet is jack her up and see if there is any play / movement under there. Failing that get yourself down a local garage, you should be able to get free diagnosis.
Hope this helps.

HI Lee welcome to PF!
Personaly I'd remove your dumpvalve it would appear its knackered.
To remove - remove dumpvalve and blank off gap in hose(usualy dumpvalve blanking plug or simply replace hose), you will then need to follow the vacume pipe(small hose) it will likely be seperated by a T pc at some point, remove T pc and vacume hose to dumpvalve.
Now ensure that the hose that was originaly tapped into with the T pc (where the T pc was) runs continueously without any leaks(you may need to replace a length of Vacume pipe)
That should see your car running a lot better!
Sounds like the Judder as swanny says could well be down to a worn bush & or wheel bearing( this may be part of your 3rd problem, although its kinda difficult to know from your description, this may fit if the noise is coming from wheel area)
If noise is coming from the engine area, it would tend to sugest that there is excesive ware on your bearings and more than likely to be bottom end related
Best of luck M8
