Hi,
My car has this annoying fault.Car drives sweet as a nut then all of a sudden it does an almighty backfire and cutts out(Rev needle jumps about too). Can usually get the car started again but it sounds like your doing about 100mph+ when your sitting at 60mph(if that makes any sence?)Engine just sounds like its overfuelling...?
Next time i use the car it will be fine but after approx another 100miles it will starts to do it again
Anyone got any idea's??
Dont know if this matters but i find its more prone to doing it if i start the car from cold and drive it straight away,i usually let it sit for 30secs to a min before driving.

could be the dizzy on the way out, but id say it would be doing it more often, possibly a blocked breather pipe? just check all the usual stuff and replace things, e.g. plugs, leads, fuel filter, dizzy cap and roter arm, clean the breather out, and check the pipes... etc

Its just had a new dizzy, rotor arm, plugs, leads ect...Checked breathers earlier and they are fine.
Will check the fuel pump relay, but would it start so soon after cutting out?Thought it might be something to do with the cold start valve...?
Thanks for the help so far lad's
