Default fan override switch

fan temp switch packed up on me today-was not pleased especally as the temp reading rose and rose until it was hitting the red on the temp gauge was'nt to bad when driving the temp came down a touch but it's not ideal when the weathers warm at the moment!any way checked all the necessary areas to see if it was'nt the themo, and it was the fan switch,im going to put a new switch in but i would like to put in a overide switch so that i can turn it on when i'm in traffic-basically i need an idiots guild on how to do as i'm fairly new to the rs world i've seen a few threds on here on how to do it but there very brief-probably because a lot of the people are experienced on how to do it i would like a switch where it carries on it's normal duties but i can run a swich alongside it,one of the topics on here explains that-i would like it in more detail and if there are pictures to go with it nthat would be superb-i hope i have'nt come across as someone who is thick as shit but i like to get all the info so that i can do the job right!and being new to the rs you tend to be a little over careful!

You have the big blue conector near thermastat housing take it off if you put a piece of wire in both holes the fan will be on constant when ignition on.so if you put a switch in between you can switch it on&off when u want.

fitting a relay would be the best option!so what wires would go to what number's on the relay(if that makes sence)because each pin on a relay is numbered i.e the numbers are 30,85,86,87also i would want it to run it so that it would carry on its normal routine if i didn'nt switch it on(fan) and as you know the two wires that run into the switch one wire has a stripe on the other does'nt!so basically i need to know this,if i was to run the wires for my home made switch off the two wires that plug into the fan switch where would the wires go to on the relay(i.e pin no's as metioned above)if anyone knows i would be most grateful many thanks again!
