Default boost

i have 86 s2 and was running 18 psi boost , now i have lowered it to 14 psi the car feels alot faster for some reason.what would be causing this? spec.piper285t cam.ported head.mongoose.kn filter.2wd cossy intercooler. chip.

Could be that the fueling is spot on at 14 psi?
My friend had a rst where we spent all day adjusting it, and at a certain point around 14 psi it was just superb

do rst,s have knock sensors? if they detect knocking maybe they retard ignition abit giving less power then say 14psi with fueling spot on as apose to 18psi then retarding.

My car feels very quick sometimes in third then others it dont pull as much, air charge same maybe i have same problem too. a good setup is needed me thinks

There's only 1 way to find out:

fit a lambda sensor in your exhaust, connect it to a air/fuel gauge and see what it says for your fuelling!
