this is my big ends after 1600 miles and 3 oil changes, lucky no marks on the crank. The one furthest from the oil pump is the worse.
I'm going to put another oil pump in it too but anyone got any ideas how they've worn so quick

Hopefully you've been monitoring or at least checked oil pressure before tearing it down, tho saying that what made you decide to open it all up at only 1600 miles?

Clearances or oil pressure/flow are really the only two things. DIY build or pro? If DIY, did you at least plasti-gauge it, and obviously ensure everything was torqued correctly (and wrench is calibrated!!)?

 

Was rebuilt in a garage, before I had it. What made me take it apart was, I was getting a knocking noise underload like it was an 1.1 ohv

 

I changed tappets and it didn't shut up. Maybe wrong oil as so many people use different oils, it started with 10w40 millers done 2 oil changes with that then I went to 10w60

 

No never monitored oil pressures too late now

 

Since this had my friend up he checked the shells all was good, so took cam out and found that to be worn out so ordered a new one

 

can the pump be tweaked to increase pressure?
