Default Quick question, s2 won't start

I haven't put the inter cooler on yet, is this why it won't fire up? Also maybe not enough fuel in it, been standing for 3 years put fresh petrol in it, about 2 petrol cans worth, it's just turning over

It should still start, the trouble is you still have the old fuel present!

Is the fuel and spark present at the engine?

Fuel is only about 3 months old IDE say, yeh got spark, cracked the banjo bolts on metering unit and there wet, I've had everything refurbed in the engine bay, I can't see there being much wrong with it?

Have you checked your fuel pump relay?or the two fuses in fuse tray?i.e the injection fuse and the one marked as the heated seat fuse?

If you're still on mfi it wont start if you've got the intercooler off as you have a massive air leak. Try putting the intercooler on and holding the flap down slightly in the metering unit while someone cranks her over. If your on mfi that is

I thought of that, but then dismissed it, as the throttle is there, therefore it makes no difference, by my theory?

If you have an intercooler hose blow off when your on mfi the car will cut out, has happened to me a few times. Truste me put the cooler on and try again.

I would leave the fuel, as if it is bad, simply pouring new on top of it won't do any good!

As above, the flap in the metering unit will not be sucked down if you have no IC fitted, the engine will be sucking in air from the open end of the charge carrier pipe and the metering unit will know nothing about it! lol

Like I say, the fuel in there may not be any good, you obviously have fuel as it did run!

But is this being added to the existing fuel, if so it's defeating the point?

My car has been off the road since 2009 as ive been restoring it. When I came to start it up it took ages to get it going. I had to hold the flap in the metering unit down for ages. I had fuel coming up but there wasn't enough to get it running have you took the plugs out and span it over? You should smell if you have fuel upto the bores then.
