Default rev limiter

Hiya guys

I have an xr2 with a series 2 engine, the car has a piper285t2 cam but is still restricted to 6.2k revs;_(

I have swapd ecu,s and rotor arms with my brothers car as that revs to 7.2k but my car will still not rev past 6.2k, apparently there is a limiter on the fuel ecu?

This can be modded by changin a resistor so im told how true is this and how do i go about doing it?

Many thanks Paul.

That is the fuel ECU from an S2.

The S1 fuel ECU doesn't have a limiter in the ECU and the pins are different so they can't just be swapped from S1 to S2.

The S1 rev limiter is adjustable and is inside the fuel pump relay (which also won't work on an S2).

I replied to a similar thread on the RSOC BBS.

IMO dont rev yours to over 7000rpm unless you have ARP Conrod Bolts AND Anti-Pump Lifters. Even then its dodgy.
